Grand Knight's Message

My wife, the cradle Catholic, calls me a baby Catholic since I am a recent convert to the faith.  My conversion began; when as a young boy, I met the Blessed Mother.  St. Maryís Parish was close to my home in Jackson, MS, and there was a beautiful statue of Our Lady on church grounds.  I stopped to look at her one day and felt her looking back at me.  I didnít realize it then but my journey to Catholicism had begun.

After joining RCIA classes in LA, I was mentored by a former co-worker.  I also met a number of other Knights who joined in the recruitment efforts.  I said yes and became a Knight.  After our move to Richmond, I transferred my membership to Council 7445.  Iíve held four previous officersí positions, and now I am the Grand Knight working with a group of men dedicated to the core principles of our organization.

As I have found that this council is a home of welcoming Knights of great heart and enthusiasm, may I welcome you to enjoy
our programs and fellowship with me.

Trust me - if you've never been there you will be hooked. It is the most rewarding experience and you will meet some of the finest men and women you've ever encountered. Unfortunately I cannot be there this week (it's my grandson's 1st birthday); however, my son Nick and Father-In-Law Don (both veterans) plan to be there.

God bless you all.

David Hobson
